$22 billion merger Bovespa Holding SA, Bolsa de Mercadorias & Futuros-BM&F SA, BM&F Bovespa SA Stock, Mercantile and Futures Exchange, Credit Suisse Group, Goldman Sachs & Co, Rothschild Inc
Bovespa Holding SA and Bolsa de Mercadorias & Futuros-BM&F SA have merged. The market value of the combined exchanges is in excess of $22 billion. Bovespa and BM&F shareholders have approved the creation of BM&F Bovespa SA Stock, Mercantile and Futures Exchange and elected a new board of directors. BM&F Bovespa SA will be listed on the Novo Mercado and registered with the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission. Credit Suisse Group and Goldman, Sachs & Co were financial advisers to Bovespa Holding, while BM&F was advised by Rothschild Inc.
