Eurofarma (Brazil) acquires Quesada Farmaceutica (Argentina)

Eurofarma Sets Off On LatAm Expansion With Quesada Acquisition
Brazilian pharmaceutical company Eurofarma has taken its first major step towards expansion across Latin America with the purchase of Argentinean drugmaker Quesada Farmaceutica. Eurofarma concluded an agreement to acquire 95% of Quesada in August 2009, with a commitment to purchase the remaining 5% over the following two years. It is unclear whether Quesada's Peruvian operations were included in the deal. Eurofarma aims to make further acquisitions in five or six countries across Latin America over the next few years, with the aim of covering 90% of the region.
