Companhia Brasileira de Distribuicao to acquire 70% of Globex (Brazil)

Companhia Brasileira de Distribuicao (BOVESPA: PCAR4) entered into an agreement to acquire 70.24% stake in Globex Utilidades S.A. (BOVESPA: GLOB3) for approximately BRL 820 million on June 7, 2009. Companhia Brasileira shall pay approximately BRL 370 million in cash and approximately BRL 450 million will be paid after 4 years in cash or stock, at the option of vendors for 86.96 million shares of Globex.
